the wonders of dvr

yesterday i was so excited. the phillies were on national tv... and i was gonna watch it.

game time.

a wild and crazy ride. victorino was the story of the game... with a homer... followed up by a crazy run-down between 1st and 2nd that he ended up actually winning b/c the ump called interference on the 2nd baseman. bonds was playing. [sissy]. howard hit a homer as well. oh- and cole hamels was pitching!

the first several innings were pretty exciting. i was loving every second of it. runs being scored... crazy things happening... then the phils would screw up and not catch a ball or overthrow something or get an error in some way... but then they'd come back and hit some more. it was SO fun.

and then my dvr kicked in. my roommate had decided to record two shows at once... which meant that the channel switched to one of her shows as it can record up to two shows at once... but if it does two... the tv channel being viewed has to be one of them. i was OUTRAGED. for once in my life the phillies were actually on tv in ohio... and i couldn't watch the whole game. i almost went to a bar.

they ended up winning... which was really great... but i wish i could have seen the second half. stupid dvr. it was really disappointing.

of course... espn kept talking about clemens going back to the yankees. i was bummed. feeling for you on that one, john.

in case i don't write on here again before i leave town for the weekend on friday... i'm going to pittsburgh on sunday to see the pirates play the braves!!!! i'll be in cleveland for a wedding... and a few of my friends and i are gonna skip across the border to go to a new stadium!! it'll be my 10th current major league ballpark [12th overall, and 15th counting the minors]. i'm SO excited. it's a new park. it's supposedly one of the best current ballparks out there. and it's against the braves. i couldn't care less about the pirates... [sorry joe]... but i loathe the braves with all of my might... so i can't wait to cheer against them.

oh- and about the brewers... go kevin mench!!!!!!!!!!! [he's a good friend of my brother's.]
